We're excited to invite you to sign up for a dedicated sending subdomain on the FGF Mail service!
Check out the following frequently asked questions to learn all about how this process works.
IMPORTANT: Your dedicated sending domain will be set up based on the domain that is in the business email address you use to log in to your FG Funnels account.
If you want to use a different domain, you'll need to FIRST:
Set up your email address/inbox for that domain (on Google Workspace, or other email inbox hosting services).
For a step-by-step walkthrough of how to set up a new email address with Google Workspace, watch "#1 Setting Up Google Workspace In Cloudflare" in the GSuite (Google Workspace) Alternative To FGF Mail lesson in FG Funnels University (video #2 in this lesson is also helpful, but skip video #3).
Change your login email address in FG Funnels to match that new email address - in Settings -> Profile, as well as Settings -> Business Profile.
With this process we will set up a new subdomain - fgm (which stands for FG Mail) - on the domain used in your email address, which will then become your new, personal sending subdomain on FGF Mail's SMTP service.
Domains are like addresses on the Internet. They tell the other computers where a website, email server, or other digital asset lives so people can access it.
A subdomain is an addition to a root domain. For example, one of our root domains is fgfmail.com. On that root domain, we have subdomains like replies.fgfmail.com, fg1.fgfmail.com, etc.
The process of sending email requires a server that “hosts” the sending. And one of the things that host needs is an address to keep track of the messages it sends and receives, and who they are meant for.
So when setting up email marketing, you need to set up an address for your sending.
Best practice is to always keep marketing email separate from the root domain because sending email alters the reputation of the domain/subdomain it is sent through.
Even if you are absolutely saint-like in your sending practices, people and their inbox spam filters will sometimes say messages are “junk mail” - and you don’t want this bad Internet juju impacting your root domain or primary email inbox.
By using a subdomain, you keep your root domain safe.
After we add the subdomain (fgm) to the domain's records and connect it to your FGF Mail account, your unique sending subdomain will look like this:
fgm.yourdomain.com
Are you already signed up for FGF Mail?
If you're not already signed up for FGF Mail, you can sign up at fgfmail.com.
Are you willing to still follow all of our Best Practices?
Is the domain in your FG Funnels login business email address, the same domain you want us to set up your dedicated sending subdomain on?
You can verify your login email address by going to Settings -> Profile in your account and viewing which email address is listed there.
If you want to use a different domain,
you'll need to FIRST set up your email address for that domain and change your FG Funnels login email to that domain email address (under Settings -> Profile). Then come back and sign up for a custom sending domain.
Is the domain managed in Cloudflare?
This means the domain's nameservers were changed to point to Cloudflare, and that is where you log in to add/edit DNS records on the domain.
Your Cloudflare login email must also be verified with Cloudflare, as indicated in your profile there.
We will eventually be exploring how to expand the program beyond Cloudflare-managed domains, but while the program is in beta, the domain needs to be managed in Cloudflare.
Are you willing to warm up your new dedicated sending domain using our provided process?
Or do you consistently send only transactional emails - no marketing emails and no plans to start?
Warming up a new dedicated sending subdomain is required before starting email marketing to ensure high deliverability and stay out of spam folders. It is a matter of protecting your new business asset. If you skip this important step, deliverability on your new sending subdomain will be negatively impacted.
We have created an automated warm-up workflow you can utilize. It comes with a spreadsheet to help you calculate your warm-up sending rates. You'll receive links to these in the confirmation email after signing up.
Please note, the recommended warm up time for a new sending domain is as close to 30 days as possible, 60-90 days is preferable.
Click the button below to open the form to sign up - be sure to watch the video above the form to ensure it is filled out correctly. If there are any errors on the form submission, this may delay your dedicated domain's connection to your FGF Mail account.
